New Murals for our School

Two new murals are taking pride of place in our school foyer. These large murals are part of our school’s embellishment programme and are the work of Mr Rayvin Galea. One of the murals shows Grandmaster Antonio Manoel de Vilhena, who reigned in Malta between 1722 till 1736. He was the 66th Grandmaster of the Order of Saint John. He was the person responsible for the building of Floriana. The other mural depicts Saint Publius, first bishop of Malta and Patron Saint of our town. It is believed that Saint Publius went to Athens when he was an old man. There he was martyred by being thrown into a lions’ den.
