Special Assembly Year 5

The children in the year 5 class, with guidance from Ms Theresa, Ms Rebecca and Ms Janette took part in a special assembly having the theme of friendship on Friday 16th October. This assembly consisted of a short play were the children mimed acts of friendship like helping the physically injured, the lonely and the sad. The song “You can count on me” by Bruno Mars was playing in the background as the children played their various parts. The lyrics of this song are a perfect example of what friendship is all about.

The theme of friendship has featured in many classroom discussions since the beginning of the year, and so it seemed only natural to set friendship as the theme of our special assembly. Friendship is also the overall theme of our classroom noticeboard.

L-Importanza tal-Quddiesa

Sfortunatament qegħdin nosservaw li xi wħud mit-tfal ma jattendux għall-quddiesa, lanqas dik tal-Ħadd. Meta ġew mistoqsijin min imur quddiesa l-Ħadd ftit kienu dawk li għollew subgħajhom u kien hemm min qal li ħadd ma jieħdu l-knisja!  Dawn għadhom tfal żgħar u sabiex imorru l-knisja hemm bżonn li jmorru ma’ xi ħadd – jew il-ġenituri jew xi ħadd ieħor li hu responsabbli. Ma nistgħux nistennew li tfal ta’ din l-eta’ imorru l-knisja waħidhom! Tinsewx li kontu intom li għażiltu li tgħamduhom u li tressquhom għall-Ewwel Tqarbina – issa komplu l-missjoni tagħkom billi tagħtuhom eżempju tajjeb! Immorru għall-quddiesa mhux biex ngħoġbu lill-arċipriet, jew lill-qassis li jkun hemm, iżda biex inroddu ħajr lil Alla li ħalaqna u għadu jżommna ħajjin.  Nieħdu pjaċir jekk għall-quddiesa li norganizzaw aħna bħala skola jkun hemm aktar ġenituri li jattendu u jipparteċipaw. Wara kollox il-quddiesa mhi xejn ħlief l-ikla tal-ħbieb u l-familja flimkien. Narawkom!

Special Assembly Year 6

Nhar il-Ġimgħa 9 ta’ Ottubru 2015 it-tfal tas-Sitt Sena, bl-għajnuna tal-għalliema Ms Martina u Ms Erica, tellgħu preżentazzjoni verament ħelwa fejn waslu messaġġ sabiħ li għandna nkunu kuntenti b’dak li għandna.  U huwa tassew importanti li nagħrfu li aħna lkoll differenti iżda għandna nkunu kuntenti b’dawk it-talenti sbieħ li aħna mżejnin bihom, għaliex wara kollox, kulħadd għandu xi ħaġa x’jofri lis-soċjetà.  It-tfal ghamlu reċta qasira u fl-aħħar żifnu flimkien mal-kanzunetta “Happy“.

Script tar-reċta:   Be_happy_with_yourself
Il-Kanzunetta:     Happy – Pharrell Williams

Waqt din l-Assembly ġiet tkellimna wkoll rappreżentanta tal-Missio Malta flimkien mal-mascot tagħhom, fejn ħeġġewna sabiex ngħinu lill-komunitajiet  tal-Madagascar sabiex ikollhom ilma safi biex jixorbu.  Kull min jixtieq jgħin f’dan l-għan għandu jfittex lil Ms Maria.

World Teachers’ Day

The mediocre teacher tells.
The good teacher explains.
The superior teacher demonstrates.
The great teacher inspires.

World Teachers’ Day is celebrated every year all over the world on the 5th of October.  The new scholastic year has just started and so it is the time to be thankful for having dedicated persons who come to school to teach us very interesting things.  These persons are our teachers.  They spend a lot of time preparing their lessons, correcting our work and trying to be always up to date with what is required out of their job.  Believe me: being a teacher is not an easy job and, at times, it can become very difficult and tiring.

Let us all appreciate their work and try to make their day as fruitful as possible!  Hurray to all the teachers at Floriana Primary and to all the other teachers in the whole wide world!
