Laqgħat għall-ġenituri rigward is-suġġett tal-PSCD

Għeżież Ġenituri/ Kustodji,

TFAL FIT-3 SENA

Issa li t-tfal qegħdin fit-tielet sena, se jibda jiġi mgħallem suġġett ġdid li jismu Personal, Social and Career Development (P.S.C.D). Għalhekk l-għalliema tal-P.S.C.D tal-iskola tagħna, qed jistednukom sabiex tattendu laqgħa informattiva fejn se jiġi spjegat x’jinvolvi dan is-suġġett. Il-laqgħa ser issir fil-Hall nhar it-Tnejn 7 ta’ Novembru 2015 fl-8.30 am.

TFAL FIR-4 SENA

Ilkoll naqblu li fiż-żminijiet tal-lum it-tfal qed jieħdu ħafna messaġġi rigward is-sesswalita’ tagħhom. Dawn jiġu minn diversi sorsi fosthom il-media u l-ħbieb tagħhom. Huwa ta’ importanza kbira li tingħata Edukazzjoni dwar is-Sesswalita’ Umana.  Għalhekk s-sezzjoni tal-P.S.C.D. fi ħdan id-Direttorat tal-Edukazzjoni ħasset li parti mis-sillabu tal-P.S.C.D. għandha tkun iddedikata għall-edukazzjoni sesswali.  L-għan ta’ dawn il-lezzjonijiet huwa li jingħata tagħrif ġust u tajjeb lit-tfal biex b’hekk innaqqsu xi dubji li jista’ jkollhom rigward dan is-suġġett. Għal dan il-għan ser issir laqgħa għall-ġenituri tat-tfal li qegħdin fir-raba’ sena. Din ser issir fis-sala tal-iskola nhar it-Tnejn 7 ta’ Novembru 2015 fit-8.30 a.m. F’din il-laqgħa ser ikellmukom l-għalliema tal-P.S.C.D. fejn huma se jispjegawlkom x’se jingħad waqt dawn il-lezzjonijiet kif ukoll juruwkom xi materjal li huma se jużaw waqt il-lezzjonijiet.

All About Me

The children started off the activity by listening to a nursery rhyme ‘Eyes Nose Mouth and Ears’. Then they were engaged in a discussion where they had to count body parts such as eyes, nose, ears, fingers, mouth, head, etc.  After the discussion the activity was scaffolded to a painting activity during which the children had to paint themselves on a large piece of paper.

Objectives:

  • Taking turns to listen to each other during discussion time, and also taking turns to paint ourselves.
  • Hand and eye co- ordination whilst singing and pointing to the mentioned body parts on their own bodies.
  • Engaging creativity when painting themselves.
  • Numeracy took place when counting body parts ranging from 1 nose and mouth to 10 fingers and 10 toes.

This was an activity that the children really enjoyed and the vocabulary learnt relating to the different body parts is also reinforced daily during our assembly in the school foyeur through different songs and rhymes we sing as a whole group.

L-Annimali – Special Assembly tas-Sitt Sena

L-ewwel Assembly għas-sena skolastika 2016 -2017 saret mill-klassi tas-sitt sena.  It-tema kienet dwar l-annimali.  Kulħadd għandu d-dritt li jgħix u li jgħix ħieles.  L-Assembly bdiet billi tifel li kien qed jirrappreżenta ljun ġera wara żewġt itfal li kienu qed jirrappreżentaw żewġt iċriev. Wieħed miċ-ċriev b’nifsu maqtugħ qal lill-iljun kif qatagħlu nifsu u l-iljun irrisponda li hu wkoll kellu dritt li jiekol.  Hawn daħlu n-narraturi li spjegaw dwar l-annimali karnivori u dawk erbivori u kif dawn iżommu bilanċ fin-natura. Komplew jispjegaw kif huwa proprju l-bniedem li qed jeqred l-armonija u l-bilanċ fin-natura.  Hawn tifel li jirrappreżenta għasfur jispjega kif il-kaċċa u l-insib qed ikomplu jeqirdu l-ispeċi ta’ diversi annimali.  Iżda mhux kollox negattiv għaliex hawn diversi għaqdiet li jiddefendu l-annimali u anki sptarijiet għal dawn il-kreaturi.  Hemm ukoll min saħansitra jħallilhom il-wirt.  Fl-aħħar ingħata xi tagħrif dwar il-padrun tal-annimali San Franġisk t’Assisi.

Din l-Assembly ittelgħet mit-tfal tas-Sitt Sena bl-għajnuna tal-għalliema tagħhom Ms Rita, Ms Josianne u Ms Charlene.

Kinder 2 Being Active

Ms Margert and Ms Jolene plan various Physical Activity Lessons for Kinder 2 Classes. During this particular lesson they planned to have two activities one was a parachute activity and the other one was catching the boy or girl having a tail.

Objectives: Parachute activity.

  • Asking individual children the colors of the parachute.
  • Learn new positions vocabulary such as Over our head, On the floor, Lifting up high.
  • Learning of intervals such as first walking with the parachute and then all of a sudden changing and start running with the parachute .
  • Hand and eye co ordination when having a ball on the parachute and trying to pull hands up as soon as they see the ball approaching so that the ball won’t fall .

Objectives: Catch the tail.

  • Using gross motor skills to run around the playground.
  • Taking turns to use the tail provided.

The happy faces on our little ones was sure proof of the fun the pupils were having and whenever the sun will be out and shining we will have many more opportunities to enjoy ourselves whilst keeping active in our school yard!

Laqgħa Għall-Ġenituri Dwar is-Suġġett tal-Matematika

Bħala parti mill-pjanijiet tal-iskola għal din is-sena skolastika hemm enfasi partikolari fuq is-suġġett tal-matematika u l-ħtieġa li nassimilaw dan is-suġġett fil-ħajja tagħna ta’ kuljum.  B’hekk il-matematika ma tibqax suġġett li donnu jbeżża’ lit-tfal u lill-ġenituri.

B’dan il-għan f’moħħna organizzajna tlett laqgħat għall-ġenituri li matulhom il-Maths Support Teacher, Ms. Miriam Chetcuti, iltaqgħet mal-ġenituri u wriethom diversi metodi kif, b’affarijiet sempliċi u li dejjem insibu madwarna nistgħu nispjegaw kunċetti matematiċi lit-tfal tagħna.  Il-ġenituri mhux biss qagħdu bilqegħda jisimgħu iżda din id-darba wkoll meddew idejhom f’diversi attivitajiet sabiex raw b’għajnejhom li bi ftit ħsieb dan is-suġġett jista’ jinbidel f’attivita’ sabieħa u divertenti li minnha jitgħallem kulħadd.

Numru tajjeb ta’ ġenituri ġew għal dawn il-laqgħat u żgur li minnhom ħadu idea differenti dwar dan is-suġġett hekk importanti għal ħajjitna.  Prosit lil kull minn attenda u prosit ukoll lil Ms. Miriam Chetcuti.
