Champions Once Again!
The long lasting tradition of football excellence at Floriana was relived on the 3rd of March 2010 when our school team managed clinch the title of Champions of the San Gorg Preca College during the Futsal Football Tournament. Our team is made up of both boys and girls from our Yr 5 and Yr 6 classes. Well done to one and all!
Easter Traditions at Our School
Easter was once again celebrated with the usual solemnity that such an occasion entails. All classes attended well organized Lenten talks; which were prepared by the Head of School and the Archpriest of Saint Publius Parish. This year’s topic was the Parables of Jesus. The pupils watched short films in which the parables were explained. All joined in the singing of some catchy Easter tunes. Pictures for colouring were given to all the pupils. On the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows a PowerPoint presentation was shown and all attended Holy Mass. The pupils were joined by all the members of the school staff and some parents and the holy rosary was recited. The school entrance was decorated for this special time of the year. Pride of place was taken by the beautiful statue of Our Lady of Sorrows and a large wooden cross which was all lit up by red candles. Easter treats were given to everyone before school stopped for the Easter recess.
