A very special day at school

Thursday 19th June was a very special day indeed.  As usual, at this time of year the pupils in Year 2 receive their First Holy Communion in their respectve parishes. Then it is time for them to receive their Fist Holy Communion at our School.  A special Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Richard Borg in our school hall. The Year 2 pupils, all dressed nicely in white, were the protagonists. They all took part in the prayers, in the readings and during the offertory.  After Mass they accompanied the Blessed Sacrament in a short procession from the hall to a special place where a lovely altar was prepared. It was so nice to have Jesus spend the day with us! Gifts and certificates were given to one and all during a lovely party which was organized in the school foyer.  The day ended with a short ceremony during which everyone received the Benediction by the Holy Eucharist.

Professional photos by Ms Jane Farrugia will be available for viewing from Monday 23rd June at the school … Parents are kindly reminded to visit the school to view photos and place their order in time before this scholastic year is over.

Yay it’s Ice Cream Day!

Ice cream is the perfect treat for children, isn’t it? After a delicious ice cream you can do things in a somewhat light-hearted way. Apart from this children have an emotional response to ice cream; it’s more than just food. So it is believed that when you combine caring, and eating wonderful food, it’s a very powerful combination. This is the reason why at this time of year, everyone at our school stops from lessons for a couple of minutes and enjoys a mouth watering scoop or two. We believe that there is no better way to celebrate the end of the scholastic year than this!
