19th March – Feast of Saint Joseph

Saint Joseph is one of the most popular and most important saints of all times.  He was a carpenter who lived in the city of Nazareth and he was in love with Mary.  At that time little did he know what was in store for him! He was about to become the husband of the blessed mother of Jesus! Saint Joseph took good care of the holy family and now is taking care of God’s family from heaven.  He is considered to be the patron of the holy Church. Saint Joseph is also considered as a very lucky saint as he was always in the company of Jesus and Mary.

Many churches and parishes in Malta are dedicated to Saint Joseph.  His devotion in Malta is believed to have started in the old town of Rabat, near the walled city of Mdina.
