Kinder 2 Making faces – Cooking Activity

The kindergarten 2 classes made a healthy cooking activity by creating faces with food.

This activity gave the children the opportunity to be creative while practice maths and science skills.  We used healthy food like bread, cheese spread mixed with tomato paste, carrots, tomatoes and olives.

The round bun was divided in half and it became a circle for the faces. The children were exploring the mixture of light yellow spread cheese with tomato paste, the result was a peach paste.  The use of one orange carrot for the nose, two green olives for the eyes and one piece of red tomatoes for the mouth helped children  practice counting & colours.  With a good hand and eye co-ordination the children made the perfect faces and later enjoyed eating it.
